Showered with Support: Celebrating Our Growing Together Moms-to-Be

At Penfield Children’s Center, every step of the motherhood journey matters—and that includes celebrating the moments just before a new baby arrives. Our recent Growing Together baby shower marked one of the final pre-delivery meetings for our expecting moms. The meeting blended final preparations and guidance on what to expect, before transitioning into a joyful afternoon of connection, encouragement, and celebration.

The room was filled with laughter as moms-to-be enjoyed games, delicious food, and sweet treats, all while building community with one another. More than just a celebration, this special gathering served as a meaningful milestone—honoring each mom as she prepares to welcome her baby into the world.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community partners and supporters, the celebration was made even more special. Joie Baby provided each mom with essential baby items, including carriers, chairs, car seat and more—helping ensure families feel ready and supported from day one.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to our Adopt-a-Mom sponsors—Laughlin Family, Stacey Isaacson, Sarah Daniel, Jim Kuehn/BSI, and Kia Kjensrud—who were each matched with a mom and went above and beyond to provide thoughtful gifts and essential items tailored to the mom’s wish lists. Their generosity made a direct and lasting impact on the families we serve.

We’re also incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from the TMJ4 Community Baby Shower in partnership with WaterStone Bank. Through this collaboration, Penfield received a wide range of baby essentials—from diapers and clothing to beautifully handmade blankets and hats—all of which were shared with our moms during the event.

It was truly a wonderful afternoon, filled with warmth, generosity, and celebration. Most importantly, it was a reminder to our moms-to-be that they are not alone—that they are supported by a caring community as they begin this new chapter.
