Sending Summer Out with a Splash at Penfield!
At Penfield Children’s Center, we believe summer is meant for laughter, sunshine, and making memories—and our Head Start and Early Head Start students did just that at this year’s End of Summer Carnival!

Our little learners enjoyed a day full of water fun and outdoor games, perfectly suited for the warm, sunny weather. Kiddos ran through sprinklers, fished rubber ducks out of a kiddie pool, and explored the water table with big smiles on their faces. There were bubbles floating through the air, giant inflatable bowling pins to knock over, a lively game of tic-tac-toe, and of course, plenty of popsicles to keep cool. Music kept the energy high, while face painting brought even more magic—children proudly showed off their colorful designs, from sparkling butterflies to bold superheroes, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The excitement didn’t stop there—our students also got a special visit from therapy dogs, who came to join in on the fun. The children loved spending time with their furry friends, giving them plenty of pets, hugs, and smiles. It was a heartwarming addition to the day and another reminder of the joy animals can bring.

The day was a joyful celebration of friendship, play, and the close of another summer together.
A big thank you goes to our Early Education and Care team, who worked hard to plan and coordinate this fun-filled event. Their creativity and dedication made the carnival unforgettable for our children and families.
As we turn the page to a new season, we’re grateful for all the smiles, laughter, and moments of discovery that summer brought. Here’s to an exciting fall of learning and growth at Penfield!
