Meet the Laughlin Family: Chairs of the 31st Annual Penfield Croquet Ball
When it comes to supporting children and families, the Laughlin family believes in showing up.
That’s why we’re honored to announce Jacqualyn, Patrick, Franklyn, and Eliott Laughlin as the 2026 Chairs of the 31st Annual Penfield Croquet Ball. This year marks a special milestone for Penfield, as the Laughlin’s become the first family to serve as chairs of our signature fundraising gala.
For the Laughlin family, supporting Penfield is about more than one event, it’s about being part of a community that believes every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

“When I learned about Penfield, I was just very happy that Milwaukee has this,” shared Jacqualyn Laughlin. “They make it easy to volunteer—at any age you are able to come in and truly help.”
Over the years, the Laughlin family has found many ways to make an impact. Jacqualyn serves on Penfield’s Friends Board, helping advance our mission and strengthen community connections. Together, the family has supported children and families through Penfield’s Adopt-a-Family holiday program and Adopt-a-Mom initiative, helping provide resources and support during important moments in families’ lives.

They’ve also organized multiple book drives and a school supply drive, ensuring Penfield’s classroom and lending library shelves are full and children have the tools they need to learn and succeed.
For the second summer, Franklyn has volunteered in Penfield’s Early Education classrooms, and this year, Eliott joined her for her first summer of volunteering. Together, they have spent time reading, playing, and building relationships with children while experiencing firsthand the joy and connection that fill Penfield’s classrooms.
“I think volunteering is important because it’s using your time in a way that’s valuable,” said Franklyn Laughlin. “It’s fun coming in and reading to the kids, and they love it so much.”
Their enthusiasm and dedication have made a meaningful impact—not only for the children they spend time with, but also by inspiring others to see how simple acts of service can create lasting change.
The Laughlin family’s generosity, passion, and hands-on involvement embody what Penfield is all about: investing in children during the most important years of their lives.

As Chairs of the 31st Annual Penfield Croquet Ball, the Laughlins are helping ensure Penfield can continue providing early education, early intervention, therapy, and family support services to children throughout our community.

We are incredibly grateful for the Laughlin family’s leadership and commitment to Penfield’s mission. Their story is a reminder that when families come together to support other families, the impact reaches far beyond one moment; it helps build brighter futures for generations to come.
