We are proud to celebrate Heather Rotolo’s 15th work anniversary at Penfield Children’s Center. Her dedication over the years has made a lasting impact on the children and families we serve, as well as the professionals she mentors along the way.
Heather is the Director of the Behavior Clinic and brings years of experience in the mental health field. Her path to Penfield was inspired by a passion for early intervention and prevention.
“After working many years in the Mental Health community primarily focusing on crisis prevention and with foster care youth, the opportunity to work with young children in the prevention space of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health was so exciting,” Heather shared.
“Addressing emotional and behavioral concerns early is so crucial. Children are so resilient and I had always wanted to be a part of that prevention workforce.” Heather says.
In her role, Heather finds joy in seeing the growth of young children and supporting the next generation of mental health professionals.
“As the Director of the Behavior Clinic, I get to see the amazing growth young children are capable of. Also, as a training site for counseling professionals, I get to be a part of training the next generation of therapists in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health.”
What keeps her motivated every day is the people she works with.
“I get to work with the most amazing group of professionals. The Behavior Clinic staff are exceptional and I get to see firsthand the impact they are having on children and families.”
Heather also offers meaningful advice to those beginning their careers in mental health.
“Explore all ages and environments in the Mental Health field. This will help you find where you are meant to make a difference. Then go follow your passion.“
Thank you, Heather, for 15 incredible years. Your leadership, compassion, and commitment to early childhood mental health continue to shape lives every day. Penfield is better because of you.
