Lisa Miller’s Dedication to Inclusion: Supporting Every Child at Penfield
At Penfield Children’s Center, we believe in the power of early intervention and the importance of creating an inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who bring passion, expertise, and heart to their work every day. Today, we are excited to introduce Lisa Miller, our new Early Learning Inclusion Specialist, who plays a vital role in ensuring that children with disabilities and mental health concerns receive the support they need to succeed.
A Journey to Penfield
Lisa’s path to Penfield was a natural one. A former supervisor shared an opening in the Birth to Three program that seemed like the perfect fit not only based on her qualifications but also because of her deep passion for working with children and families. Knowing Penfield’s outstanding reputation, it was an easy decision to apply. Now, as the Early Learning Inclusion Specialist, the opportunity to make a lasting impact is both an honor and a privilege.
The Best Part of the Job
There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child grow, learn, and achieve milestones, no matter how big or small. In this role, Lisa supports and coordinates services for children with disabilities and behavioral health concerns every day. But what makes the job truly special? It is the love, support, and services that everyone at Penfield provides to the children in our care. Every single day is filled with purpose, knowing that we are making a difference in young lives.
What Drives the Passion
The answer is simple, the children! Their resilience, curiosity, and growth fuel Lisa’s work each day. But beyond that, the teamwork at Penfield is truly inspiring. Lisa shares, “Of course, the children! But also, the teamwork we have at Penfield. We are truly #bettertogether!”
A Fun Fact You Might Not Know
Lisa is a huge music fan and listens to just about everything, but grunge is her favorite. In 2023, she had the unforgettable experience of touring a Seattle studio where Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains recorded. Standing in the same space where these legendary bands once stood and hearing stories about their time there was a surreal and inspiring moment for her.
