For nearly a decade, Julia Fennelly has been a dedicated champion of Penfield Children’s Center, generously sharing her time, talent, and professional expertise in support of our mission.
Julia has played an important role in strengthening Penfield’s visibility in the community by helping build meaningful relationships, supporting the success of the Croquet Ball, and finding thoughtful ways to give back to Penfield families throughout the year. Whether lending her communications expertise, serving on committees, or helping create joyful holiday traditions for families, Julia’s involvement goes beyond volunteering. She is a true advocate for the children and families we serve.
Julia currently serves as the Senior Director of Corporate Reputation at Northwestern Mutual and brings more than 20 years of experience in communications and public relations. Previously, she served as Director of Corporate Public Relations at Kohl’s. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from UW Madison and a master’s degree in public relations from Marquette University.
A Milwaukee area native, Julia is deeply committed to supporting local organizations through volunteerism. Her involvement includes Penfield Children’s Center, Urban Ecology Center, and Cathedral Center, all of which reflect her passion for strengthening families and building a healthier community.
Julia was introduced to Penfield Children’s Center in 2015, and for the past ten years, she and her family have proudly supported the center’s mission. Reflecting on Penfield’s impact, Julia shared:
“Penfield Children’s Center has had an impact on the lives of so many young children and families in our Milwaukee community. It has been an honor to support the center’s mission in any way that we can. Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
She is especially grateful for the Penfield development team and the auction committee, recognizing their dedication to honoring the center’s leadership, staff, and families at the annual Croquet Ball. Julia will continue this commitment as the 2026 Auction Chair, helping advance one of Penfield’s most meaningful fundraising traditions.
One of Julia’s favorite Penfield traditions is giving back to a Penfield family during the holidays. She finds joy in thinking about ways to bring even more happiness to children, parents, and families during a season that means so much.
