What led you to work at Penfield Children’s Center?
“The mission of children within Milwaukee getting the treatment they need,” Corey shares, “especially after having my own daughter in 2022.” That personal experience deepened his connection to Penfield’s mission, which focuses on providing early intervention services, inclusive child care, and family support.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
As the Manager of Grants & Partnerships, Corey thrives on problem solving and “looking for a way to partner with outside places to help with our programming.” Whether that’s connecting with new funders, building collaborations with community organizations, or identifying shared goals, his work helps Penfield expand its reach and impact.
What motivates you to come to work every day?
His answer is simple and powerful: “The kiddos, I love seeing these Black and Brown faces whenever I visit.” That sense of joy and representation drives his efforts and keeps the mission personal and present.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
Corey lights up when talking about his love for superheroes and spells: “I am a super fan in Marvel and Harry Potter!” Whether it’s the Avengers’ universe or Hogwarts, he finds inspiration in stories of resilience and transformation.
What advice would you give to someone starting in this field?
“Make sure to connect and ask questions and intel about funders and programming.” Corey’s guidance speaks to the power of relationships and research, key ingredients in building sustainable partnerships that help children and families succeed.
