This year, Penfield Children’s Center is proud to recognize a very special milestone. Lisa, our Director of Business Intelligence, is celebrating 25 years of dedicated service. From her first role as a Service Coordinator to her current position leading a dynamic and talented team, Lisa’s commitment to Penfield’s mission has never changed.

What led you to work at Penfield Children’s Center?

“I actually have a degree in social work and started my career at Penfield Children’s Center as a Service Coordinator. What led me here, and what continues to motivate me, is Penfield’s mission of supporting children and families. While my role has evolved significantly over the years, from Service Coordinator to Program Data Manager, and now to Director of Business Intelligence, the reason I’m here has remained the same. Even though I now work behind the scenes, I am still committed to the same mission.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

“My favorite part of my job is my team. They are all incredibly selfless and supportive. Everyone is willing to go above and beyond for one another. We work well together, and I genuinely enjoy supervising each and every one of them. It’s especially rewarding to lead such a diverse group with a wide range of talents across billing, intake and authorizations, EHR systems, insurance contracts, credentialing, and managing agency data and dashboards. Everyone brings something valuable to the table, and the way we all collaborate to get the job done makes it a great environment to be part of.”

What motivates you to come to work every day?

“I’m motivated by the incredible colleagues I get to work alongside each day. They inspire me to do better, challenge myself, and keep growing professionally. Additionally, most people who primarily work on a computer all day don’t get to experience the joy of hearing kids laughing and singing in the hallways while working at their desks. It’s a great reminder of why we do what we do.”

Who do you go home to at night?

“Who I go home to will drastically change this fall, as both of our boys will be in college. Jordan will be a senior at Milwaukee School of Engineering, and Peyton will be a freshman there as well. Both are majoring in architectural engineering. So, in September, I’ll be going home to my husband, Steve, and our two dogs, Lacy and Marley.”

Congratulations, Lisa, on 25 incredible years at Penfield Children’s Center.

Your dedication, leadership, and love for the mission have made a lasting impact on our organization and the families we serve.
