This year, we are thrilled to celebrate Beth Vick and her incredible 25-year journey with Penfield Children’s Center! From the moment she joined our Birth to 3 Program, Beth has brought passion and dedication to every child and family she supports.
Beth reflects on how it all began: “Luck! I knew that I wanted to work for a Birth to 3 Program after graduation; this was not the usual path for new educators. The majority of my graduating class had already accepted jobs with MPS. So, after graduation, I did a ‘mass’ mailing of my resume to the 8 contracted agencies, and PCC was the only one to respond.” Clearly, that one response changed the course of not only Beth’s career but also the lives of countless children and families.
Over the years, Beth has cherished the relationships she’s built with her staff and the opportunity to share her knowledge and experiences with them. She says, “I love the relationships I have developed with my staff and enjoy sharing my experiences and knowledge of Birth to 3.”
Her connection to Penfield goes beyond her professional role. Beth’s daughter, Olivia, attended PCC’s Childcare Program and is also a graduate of the Birth to 3 Program. “PCC has been an important part of my life for 25 years, not only for me but for my daughter,” Beth shares.
Beth finds joy and purpose in working with families. “The benefits outweigh the challenges when you see a smile on a child’s face or hear a family say they’ve noticed a positive change,” she says.
In addition to her work at Penfield, Beth and Olivia share a unique claim to fame. Olivia, along with her cat Penelope, stars in the film 25 Cats from Qatar, which has been touring film festivals across the U.S. since May 2025.
Outside of work, Beth loves spending time with her family and friends, bringing the same kindness and joy to her personal life that she shares every day at Penfield.
We are so grateful for Beth’s 25 years of dedication, care, and leadership. Her impact on our children, families, and staff is immeasurable, and we look forward to many more years with her on our team.
