Hi!
My name is Cristina, and like most people, I am many things. Professionally, I am the Bilingual Outreach Specialist at Penfield Children’s Center, a certified medical interpreter and a new regular contributor on the Penfield Building Blocks website. If you ask my sisters, I am overly sensitive, the one who always wants to keep the peace and a fan of all things crafty and Pinterest. My husband would add that I am a terrible joke teller, although I crack myself up, and the person who always has to have something to do. My friends might also say that I am an aspiring writer and movie lover with a memory that rivals an elephant’s.
But before all else, I am Cris, your everyday, stuff an English muffin in my mouth on my way out the door, drink a cup of coffee or three by 10 am, get some cuddles and kisses from my baby before bedtime, working mom. As a first time parent, I am still learning all of the ins and outs of motherhood and I want to share it with you here at PenfieldBuildingBlocks.org. From my experiences with my son being in the NICU to how you can make the most of the time you spend with your kids when you barely have time to feed yourself, this section of the Penfield Building Blocks website not only allows me to talk about what I am learning every day as a parent, but is also an opportunity for me to investigate and share a little insight to some of the questions you may have as well.
Think of me as the mom you always mean to get together with, but your only free time is the 20 minutes between when your kids go to bed and when you fall asleep on the couch. Now we can sit back, grab a cup of coffee and hang out for a bit. Let’s make a date for the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Be sure to come back to check my newest posts where I will address some of the struggles, questions, and joyful moments that come with being a parent.
All the best,
Cristina
