Building Connections Through Stories

Earlier this month, we were thrilled to welcome Kate, Lauren, Alexandra, and Devin from BSI – Building Service Inc. to Penfield Children’s Center as part of our Take A Look, Read A Book program. Their visit was especially meaningful because it came full circle — at the end of last year, our P&I team visited BSI to share Penfield’s mission, the work we do in the community, and ways their team could get involved. Following that meeting, these amazing women signed up to experience Penfield firsthand.

Our Take A Look, Read A Book program gives volunteers a tour and overview of the services Penfield provides, along with the opportunity to spend time in our classrooms reading with children. The smiles on our students’ faces said it all. Sharing stories together not only builds early literacy skills, but also creates meaningful connections our children truly cherish.
