Explore our volunteer opportunities
Community volunteers dedicate their skill and time to Penfield Children's Center every day. Adults of all ages volunteer individually and in groups to help in our classrooms and Special Care Nursery, assist with special projects and coordinate fundraising events. Year-round volunteer opportunities are available for qualified teens (age 15 and over), college students and adults.
Facilities Projects
Perfect for volunteer groups of any size looking to make a meaningful impact! Volunteers help keep our spaces welcoming and functional by taking on tasks such as cleaning, painting, organizing, and tackling seasonal outdoor projects. These hands-on activities ensure our facilities remain safe and inviting for the children and families we serve.
Take A Look, Read A Book Program
This opportunity offers a heartwarming introduction to Penfield Children’s Center! Volunteers have the opportunity to read a book with one of our classrooms and take a guided tour of our center. This is a wonderful way for new volunteers to experience our mission firsthand, connect with our staff, and spend quality time with the children we serve.
Classroom Volunteer
The holidays can be a challenging time for many families but with the support of our community we can lighten the burden. Once matched with a family, holiday sponsors will shop, wrap and deliver gifts to be delivered during the holiday season.
Host a Book Drive
Help fill the shelves of the Penfield Lending Library by organizing a book drive. The donation of books is a meaningful way to support literacy and spark a lifelong love of reading in our community. Our easy to use Tool Kit will make hosting a book drive easy and fun!
