EARLY EDUCATION AND CARE PROGRAM

Penfield Children’s Center provides a fully inclusive Early Education and Child Care program for children 6-weeks to 6-years-old. Our infant, toddler and preschool age programs are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and awarded a 5-star rating by YoungStar. Penfield employs a child-centered, exploratory approach to early learning.

Daily care provided Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm.

Infants

Carefully designed and nurturing environment that caters to the needs and development of babies, aged 4 weeks to 1 year. This environment ensures the safety, comfort and well-being of the infants while introducing them to developmentally appropriate learning activities.

Toddlers

A nurturing and stimulating environment where children 1-3 years old can explore, learn and socialize under the guidance of caring and attentive professionals. The classroom environment plays a crucial role in the early development of toddlers, fostering their curiosity, independence and social skills while ensuring their safety and comfort.

Preschool

A child centered, exploratory approach for young children aged 3-5 years old. This classroom prioritizes age-appropriate learning opportunities to encourage the exploratory and imaginative needs of preschool age children.

SPECIAL CARE NURSERY

Nursing care is provided to all children enrolled in the program who face chronic health conditions and medical challenges to support them to function with their peers in the age appropriate classrooms. Care is provided by trained nursing staff.

Early Head Start/Child Care Partnership

Through our partnership with Acelero Learning this is a mixed age classroom, ages birth to three years in which infants and toddlers participate in an early head start curriculum in the childcare setting. Each child has an individual learning plan to promote healthy development and school readiness. Classroom activities are developmentally appropriate and aim to prepare children for future success in school.

Respite Care Program

Safe, inclusive environment for children with complex medical needs to engage in social learning and play. Care is provided by specially trained nursing staff.
