“I wanted Manny to be somewhere he could thrive and learn, and I felt that with Penfield,” said Manny’s mother, Danielle. A typically-developing 4-year-old, Manny is able to learn and play alongside friends with different abilities in Penfield’s fully-inclusive Early Education and Child Care program. Danielle was excited to enroll Manny at Penfield after visiting several neighboring child care sites. Penfield’s NAEYC accreditation and YoungStar rating confirmed this was the right choice for her and Manny. Danielle knew Manny would receive a well-rounded child care experience. She was impressed with Penfield’s on-site education, nursing and therapy staff, and knew he would thrive in such a dynamic learning environment. Danielle recently learned that Manny has epilepsy. “It was a scary diagnosis, but I feel really secure knowing Penfield knows how to take care of him,” said Danielle. Manny will attend K4 in September. Danielle says she is sad to leave Penfield, but will cherish the memories they’ve made. “We loved attending Family Reading Nights and the annual Christmas party,” said Danielle. “Manny’s favorite activity was planting vegetables in the garden outside. He took such pride in watching them grow!” Take a look back at Manny’s journey while at Penfield!
