In August, Penfield’s Early Education and Care Program was re-accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC’s national accreditation system sets professional standards for early childhood education programs, which helps parents find high-quality programs for their children. Our classrooms have been accredited by the NAEYC since 1998.
Penfield is also in the process of being recertified by the YoungStar program. YoungStar was developed by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to improve the quality of care for the state’s children. Penfield is currently rated as a five-star child care center by YoungStar, and we fully expect to retain this rating. The five-star rating indicates Penfield’s Early Education and Care Program meets the highest standards established by the State of Wisconsin.
Our nationally-accredited classrooms are unique because they offer a quality educational experience, in addition to an inclusive setting where typically-developing children and children with developmental delays learn and play together. The Early Education and Care Program emphasizes social, emotional, cognitive, physical, behavior and language development in a caring and nurturing environment.
