Penfield launched two campaigns at the end of 2013, the “Up n’ Go” Campaign, in honor of #GivingTuesday and the annual year end appeal. Both campaigns featured Mario, a little boy who has Arthrogryposis, a rare congenital disorder that prevents him from bending his arms and legs.
With the help of Mario’s compelling story, the “Up n’ Go” Campaign raised $4,500 throughout the month of December to purchase a new toddler gait trainer, similar to the one Mario uses to walk on his own. Our annual year end appeal hit mailboxes at the end of November and raised over $40,000 for our Center so we can better serve the kids who need us most, just like Mario.
Overall, 2013 was a wonderful and exciting year for Penfield. With the help of generous donors and friends, we ended the year right and are ready to hit the ground running as we start another big year. In 2014, we plan to help more kids and expand our reach in our local community and beyond. Friends like you keep us strong and enable us to take big steps to better serve our kids and keep up with the growing need in our community. Thank you for your constant support. Your help gives us reason to celebrate, year after year.
